Program Description
In 2007, San Francisco State University established a Post-Master's Pupil, Personnel, Services Credential (PPSC) in the School of Social Work. 39 candidates from the two cohorts have completed the program. PPSC is accredited to the work with candidates who have a Master's in Social Work (MSW) only.
pre-MSW PPSC Program
San Francisco State's School of Social Work offers a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) in social work to support the case management and mental health needs of students in our public schools.
Two additional classes are required for IFG students— SW 855 Social Work Practice In Public Schools and SW 760 Social Work and the Law. IFG students should enroll in the PPSC field seminar in their second year. SAC and A&P students should consult with the coordinator. Candidates must complete a field internship at a school supervised by someone with a PPSC and candidates must pass the CBEST test.
