Selma Fraiberg’s integration of social work and psychoanalysis had a profound impact on infant mental health, child development, psychoanalysis and the larger community. Beginning with group work with disadvantaged children and an unconventional psychoanalytic training, Fraiberg’s interventions with blind children, her groundbreaking innovations in infant mental health and her prolific writings–including her classic work, The Magic Years–have left a lasting legacy. The Sanville Institute provides continuing education certificates for 6 hours for MFT, LPCC, and LCSW licensees in California, as well as California psychologists. AAPCSW will provide certificates for social workers in New York (also accepted by New Jersey). If you live in other states, please note that we will provide a certificate of attendance, but you need to check with your licensing bodies about your state-specific requirements.
