Every year the Gilman Scholarship awards hundreds of undergraduate students up to $5,000 to help them study abroad. This year San Francisco State University had the highest number of recipients, one of which was BASW senior Ethena Caldas Galicia Diaz.

Diaz is using her scholarship to study at Hochschule Fulda in Germany. Fulda offers a short-term exchange program for BASW students to spend one semester on campus. The program takes place in the autumn from September 1st until December 18th. Students take part in courses conducted in English and in field internships.
