Dr. Sonja Lens-Rashid to Start a New Role as the Founding Dean at Cal State East Bay

Dr. Sonja Lenz-Rashid will be starting as the Founding Dean of the College of Health at Cal State East Bay in early August. 

Dr. Lenz-Rashid has been with San Francisco State for 22 years and has served as Director of School of Social Work since June of 2023. 
She is also a Co-founder of the SF State Guardian Scholars Program (GSP), which was launched in 2005. GSP serves over 100 current/former foster care youth on campus with comprehensive services. Dr. Lenz-Rashid has raised over $12 million for the Guardian Scholars Program and the program boasts an 80% graduation rate.
