Eddie Powers, LCSW, PPSC (he/him) is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in private practice, specializing in work with children, adolescents, and families. He earned his Master of Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. Eddie has held clinical and leadership roles within public education systems, including many years as a school social worker with the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and, most recently, as program coordinator and clinical supervisor for the district’s clinical mental health training program. Prior to his work with SFUSD, he practiced in community-based settings in the Oakland public schools, transitional housing programs, and child welfare services. As a lecturer, his teaching and supervisory interests include school social work, human development, and relational and systems-oriented approaches. His work emphasizes the integration of critical theories into social work education and the preparation of students for practice in educational and community settings.
