Ricka White

Biography

Fredericka (Ricka) L. White has 30+ years of experience working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work in earlier years as a group home counselor moved her to further her education, which eventually led her to the work she does today. Ms. White is a proud graduate of SF State University with a BA in Psychology and a Master of Social Work. She has a wealth of experience working in group home, residential, day treatment, foster/adoption agency, behavioral managed care, hospital, home health, mental health, and private practice settings serving diverse populations from different backgrounds managing a variety of difficult life issues. She also has specialized training in sexual assault advocacy, domestic violence advocacy and batterer's intervention. Currently, she is the Executive Director/Clinical Director of Elpida Residential Programs, Inc. Ms. Ricka is the first Licensed Clinical Social Work to be at the helm of this nonprofit organization since its founding in 1993. Ms. White maintains membership in various professional organizations that promote high professional standards, integrity, and social justice. She is a two-term past Region C Director of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) California Chapter and has served on a number of NASW state and national committees. Ms. Ricka was elected to serve as the Vice-President of the Bay Area Association of Black Social Workers (2022-2024). She was recently voted in for a 2nd term (2024-2026); as well as, appointed to the National Steering Board of the National Association of Black Social Workers, which was founded in San Francisco, CA, in 1968. In addition, she was a Founding Member and the Founding Secretary of the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy (NAHAC).
