These two students are selected as the School of Social Work Departmental Honorees and receive the award from the University during the commencement week.

Shahneka Johnson, Master of Social Work
Shahneka Johnson is an exemplary student who excels in her academic scholarship and service to others. She is a first-generation college student and graduated as a Magna Cum Laude awardee. As a Social Work practitioner, Shahneka embodies a Womanist, Black Feminist and Reproductive Justice framework to serve members of marginalized communities. She is a devoted mental health and well-being advocate who incorporates therapeutic principles in both personal and professional interactions. She actualizes her academic pursuits while balancing motherhood, employment, and a commute from the Sacramento area. Shahneka interned at the UCSF School of Medicine, in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, and will pursue Clinical Licensure and lectureship post-graduation.
Tatiana Rabon, Bachelor of Arts in Social Work
Tatiana Rabon is an exemplary student, who equally pursues academic excellence and social justice advocacy and service. Tatiana graduated as a Summa Cum Laude awardee. Tatiana is a first-generation college student who has also been actively involved in community service both on and off-campus. Tatiana interned at Steppingstone Adult Day Health and is interested in pursuing gerontological social work. Tatiana volunteered consistently for BASW Program information sessions and events. Prior to coming to SF State, Tatiana was a financial aid campus ambassador at Skyline College where she did outreach and education to high school students and their families.
